Pretending they have met with or spoken to your “main web agency” or “web design provider” and are now contacting you as a follow-up.
Their goal is to create fear and urgency so you act quickly without verifying who they are.
How They Impersonate Agencies
To make their emails look legitimate, scammers may:
Use a Gmail address that includes parts of my name.
Include parts of my company name, such as DKSM, DKSM Web Design & Consulting, or DKSMILO Group.
Claim they had a “meeting” or “consultation” with your current provider and discovered problems.
Use technical-sounding language about “compliance,” “security audits,” or “legal exposure.”
These messages are designed to pressure you into clicking links, downloading attachments, or scheduling calls where they can try to sell you unnecessary services or collect sensitive information.
