Recently, there have been phishing attempts targeting website owners with “urgent” requests for updates, compliance issues, or payments. These messages can look convincing, but they are not legitimate.

To help you confirm whether an email is truly connected to your DKSM Web Design team, Wix offers a Partner Verification Tool. You can enter any email address you’re unsure about and check whether it’s associated with someone who has worked on your site.

Important Reminder

Note: You must be logged into your Wix account to use the verification tool.

Please keep in mind the following:

  • I will always contact you from info@dksmilogroup.com.

  • My email signature does not include a photo of me. If you receive an email claiming to be from DKSM that includes a photo in the signature, treat it as suspicious.

  • I will never ask for sensitive information through unexpected links or surprise requests.

  • Wix will not call you about your website “compliance,” and they will not threaten to “blackball” your website, take it down, or penalize it unless you pay someone. Calls or messages using those threats are scams.

Any email address ending in anything other than @dksmilogroup.com is likely a scam. For example:

These are not DKSM email addresses.

What to Do If You Receive a Suspicious Message

If you receive one of these messages, take immediate action:

  • Block the sender and mark the email as spam/junk.

  • Keep in mind that blocking one address won’t prevent scammers from creating new email addresses, so always verify the sender before taking action.

If you’re ever unsure about a message related to your website, forward it or email me directly at info@dksmilogroup.com. I’ll be happy to verify it for you. I will also attach the Partner Verification Tool in my messages to you.

Understanding Phishing Scams

Phishing scams are becoming increasingly sophisticated. Scammers often use tactics that make their emails appear legitimate. They may use official logos, similar email addresses, and even personal information to gain your trust.

How to Identify Phishing Emails

  1. Check the sender's email address: Look closely at the domain name. Scammers often use similar-looking domains.

  2. Look for grammatical errors: Many phishing emails contain spelling and grammatical mistakes.

  3. Beware of urgent requests: Scammers often create a sense of urgency to prompt quick action.

  4. Don’t click on links: Always hover over links to see the actual URL before clicking.

Protecting Your Website

Your website is an important asset. Protecting it from phishing attempts is crucial. Here are some steps you can take:

  • Use strong passwords: Ensure that your passwords are complex and unique.

  • Enable two-factor authentication: This adds an extra layer of security to your accounts.

  • Regularly update your software: Keeping your website and plugins updated helps protect against vulnerabilities.

Conclusion

Phishing attempts are a serious threat to website owners. By staying vigilant and using tools like the Partner Verification Tool, you can protect yourself from scams. Always verify the sender of any suspicious email and take appropriate action if you receive one.
